The Master of Management (Tourism and Event Management) will provide you with advanced knowledge and skills to manage organisations and achieve business objectives in an efficient and effective manner. This program will equip you to be a leader and decision-maker, and prepare you to be at the forefront of an organisation.

You will study areas such as project management, entrepreneurship and strategy, with content tailored to meet the changing needs of industry, ensuring your qualification remains relevant, up-to-date and applicable. You will gain an advanced understanding of management systems, the tools to problem-solve in our global economy, and the skills to pursue a management career in any business setting. Our program will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in organisations in public and private sectors, across a range of industries locally and abroad.

The program will immerse you in real world challenges and provide a range of opportunities to strengthen your networks through industry placements, study tours abroad and elective courses, to suit your individual professional development needs. The Master of Management (Tourism and Event Management) qualifies you for a career in a global and progressive industry, with advanced specialist management skills to pursue a managerial career in areas such as event planning and recreation management. From festivals and events to hotels and sporting venues, opportunities exist in a range of professional fields both nationally and internationally.

Our teaching staff have established working links with local tourism and event groups, and leading private sector organisations throughout Australia and overseas. This close collaboration means that our program content is tailored to suit the changing needs of industry.

You will study core courses in management and specialist areas such as festivals and events, tourism sustainability, exhibition management and international tourism to equip you in responding to today’s global environment. You will gain the tools to lead and manage others, think strategically and communicate effectively in a range of settings.
