Overview

Mix academic excellence with contemporary pharmacy practice to give your career a competitive edge.

The Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice provides graduate pharmacists with specialised training and skills in selected areas of pharmacy practice. You’ll develop relevant practice skills under the guidance of practicing pharmacists with extensive experience, and learn from those at the forefront of the profession.

As part of this program, you’ll have the opportunity to study online at your own pace and feel supported by face-to-face seminars and access to wider student services. You’ll also be able to access an extensive range of online resources including the Australian Medicines Handbook (AMH), Therapeutic Guidelines (eTG), eMIMS, Stockley’s Drug Interactions, Herbal Medicines, and much more.

Specifically designed for new graduates, this program incorporates the Pharmacy Intern Training Program, a requirement for all graduating pharmacy students wishing to become registered practising pharmacists, and includes extensive preparation for the National Competency exams.

You’ll be able to pursue roles in community and hospital settings to prepare, supply and monitor medicines and their use, provide drug information and advice to consumers and health professionals, and participate in clinical research. You might also choose to work with regulatory authorities or in research, or in industry where you could be involved in the development, testing, manufacture, evaluation and quality control of drugs.

In a competitive market, postgraduate study highlights your commitment to the profession and provides a structured development pathway to extend your career and education opportunities.
