The Master of Architecture comprises the final two years of the five year professionally accredited architecture education offered at UniSA. This program has consistently recorded top ratings in the Good Universities Guide's field of study for Architecture in the areas of Good Teaching and Overall Satisfaction. In the 2015 QS Subject Rankings UniSA ranked in the World Top 100 for Architecture.

During this degree, students will refine their technical and communication skills, and solve increasingly complex design problems through the application of skills developed in integrated courses.

The program has a core focus on Design Studio as a place of integration for other streams of learning. The Design Studio courses allow students to develop capabilities in areas such as sustainability, construction and documentation, urban design, contemporary design theory and digital exploration.

Student-directed learning is an important facet of the program, which offers extensive opportunities for specialisation according to individual preferences. Students can pursue specific areas through the major research components of the program and through advanced electives such as remote construction, urban design, sustainable design, conservation, digital environments and architectural history and theory.

The program also offers an excellent Student Design and Construction program, which enables students to engage in real-life projects, such as designing and building pre-fabricated structures for remote communities.

Professional accreditation

This program is professionally accredited by the Architectural Practice Board of South Australia, endorsing the architecture qualifications of graduates required for registration as an architect. Accreditation demonstrates the achievement of relevant competencies from the AACA National Competency Standards in Architecture.

Professional recognition

The Australian Institute of Architects recognises the program, endorsing architecture qualifications required for membership of the AIA, including student and graduate membership. Recognition of the program demonstrates compliance with the Institute's Education Policy Performance Criteria.
