This unique program provides students with an unprecedented opportunity to gain critical skills required to work in the visual effects industry through training at Rising Sun Pictures (RSP). RSP is a world renowned visual effects studio whose clients include major film studios and independent producers from around the world. Founded in 1995, the Adelaide-based studio has created thousands of visual effects for over 100 motion pictures including: Gravity, X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Great Gatsby and the Harry Potter series.
The Graduate Certificate in Compositing and Tracking is a 12-week intensive program that immerses students in a simulated studio environment, familiarising students with professional practice in compositing and tracking, and providing the theory, skills and techniques to produce industry-standard visual effects based film sequences.
The program provides students with hands-on training in core skills required by entry-level visual effects artists, and will give practical insights into career strategies and employment prospects locally, nationally and internationally. Students will gain exposure to professional practice standards, through learning in a production studio, and using industry standard software under the supervision of experienced visual effects artists. Upon completion of the program, graduates will have a clear understanding of what it takes to succeed in this highly competitive and rewarding industry, as well as an invaluable connection to one of Australia’s leading visual effects companies.

This program has one remaining intake in 2016 under the program title ‘Graduate Certificate in Visual Effects’, commencing:
A maximum of 10 students may be admitted to each intake. Admission is competitive. Once an application has been assessed and approved for an offer, admission will be granted to one of the three intakes based on order of application submission.
Please note, this program is 0.5 EFTSL, and as such, the fees will be half those displayed.
