The sub-major in Communication and Media introduces foundational concepts of public relations and professional writing before building more specific knowledge and skills in the areas of media relations, social media management and communication research. At the advanced level students will gain knowledge of the broader professional communication industry and how it operates while developing skills in strategic planning for integrated communication.
A sub-major in Communication and Media consists of six courses (27 units), two of which must be at Level 1 (Introductory), two at Level 2 (Intermediate) and two at Level 3 (Advanced).
A minor in Communication and Media consists of four courses (18 units), two of which must be at Level 1 (Introductory) and two at Level 2 (Intermediate).
The Communication and Media sub-major/minor is not available to students studying the Bachelor of Communication and Media program.
